We have recently added catering services specifically tailored for our office workers' lunch and breakfast needs. Our journey began with a promotional campaign centered around Dataran Prima. We started by distributing flyers that highlighted our special offer: Nasi Ayam Kunyit for RM5.00, down from the original price of RM8.00. This campaign created a buzz, with people discussing it and spreading the word to their friends and colleagues a week before the official launch.
Initially, we focused on a single lunch dish, Nasi Ayam Kunyit, and offered our signature chicken and egg sandwiches for breakfast. These sandwiches had been the cornerstone of our food business back in 2017, a business we paused during the COVID-19 pandemic and have now revived.
To maximize reach, we leveraged our social media platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook, to promote the launch. The response was overwhelming: on the first day, we sold out 30 boxes of Nasi Ayam Kunyit in just 30 minutes, far exceeding our expectations. The high demand continued, and by the end of the week, we were selling 200 boxes daily.
In the following week, we returned to our regular price of RM8.00 but included a complimentary drink worth RM1.00 to retain our customers. We also expanded our lunch menu to three variations: Nasi Ayam Buttermilk, Nasi Goreng Kampung, and Nasi Ayam Kicap, while continuing to offer chicken and toasted tuna sandwiches for breakfast. To keep our customers engaged, we varied the menu daily, ensuring that the food was always sold out before 1 pm.
By the third week, we maintained a selection of two lunch dishes and two breakfast dishes. In the fourth week, we increased our lunch options to four, including daily staples Nasi Ayam Kunyit and Nasi Daging, along with two additional dishes. On the second day of the fourth week, we introduced pre-order meals priced at RM6.90 through our website, offering 12 different lunch options. This addition was particularly beneficial for event catering, as our convenient bento box packaging made distribution and consumption effortless.
During the fifth week, we began posting behind-the-scenes (BTS) videos of our food preparation process, which significantly boosted our online presence. These videos garnered over 1,000 views each on Instagram, helping us reach a wider audience. We have continued to serve Dataran Prima office workers daily and have now expanded our offerings to include event catering with our fixed 12-menu options, each priced at RM6.90.
